Marysville man arrested after police say he stabbed fiancée in neck during a fight

A Yuba County man was arrested Thursday night after he allegedly stabbed his fiancée in the neck during a fight in their home, according to the Marysville Police Department.

Officers had been called to a home on the 2300 block of Cheim Boulevard around 8 p.m. for a report of a stabbing, the department said in a news release. Officers found the victim, who was not identified, next door at a neighbor’s house.

She said she had been stabbed with a kitchen knife and escaped the home after fighting with her fiancé, identified as Stephen Ellis George.

Police arrested George on suspicion of attempted murder, domestic violence, kidnapping and other charges. George, 53, is being held at Yuba County Jail on $500,000 bail.
