Man suspected of serial bank robbery in El Dorado County is arrested, deputies say
A man suspected in a series of El Dorado County bank robberies was arrested Friday in Solano County.
In a news release, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Joseph Eberhardt was spotted by Solano County sheriff’s deputies in a stolen vehicle.
License plate recognition technology identified the vehicle, which had recently been involved in several bank robberies in El Dorado County and elsewhere.
When deputies pulled Eberhardt over, he gave a false name, according to El Dorado sheriff’s deputies.
Eberhardt was determined to have a felony no-bail warrant outstanding in Orange County, and he was taken into custody.
He is being held in Solano County on suspicion of several robbery offenses.
