Gunshots fired in Sacramento neighborhood, but no victims were found, police say
Sacramento police responded to reports of shots fired near Colonial Heights on Wednesday afternoon but found no victims, the department said.
Police received reports of the gunshots at 2:04 p.m. and responded to the 6700 block of 21st Avenue near the Colonial Heights neighborhood, said Officer Karl Chan, spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department.
Callers reported “some people had fired some shots” and someone was injured, Chan said. The sound of the shots sent people running form the scene, but when officers arrived they did not find a victim, he said.
Officers found some shell casings at the scene and gathered evidence. The investigation is ongoing, Chan said.
No suspect description is available at this time, he said.
