Three men were arrested in Roseville earlier this week after a maintenance worker found them allegedly squatting inside a building, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.

A maintenance worker had arrived at a building in the 6000 block of Douglas Boulevard for his shift at 10:30 a.m. and noticed “things were out of place,” the sheriff’s office

He walked to the back of the building and found the roll-up door was unlocked. When he tried to open the door, someone on the other side pulled the door down and tried to lock it, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

Deputies responded to the building and searched it. They found three men, identified as James Pryde of Roseville, 33, Matthew Douglass of Roseville, 32, and Jamison Lipps of Oakland, 33.

“The three suspects appeared to have been squatting inside the building,” the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies also found a car and motorcycle inside. Some walls were also painted with graffiti.

Pryde, Douglass and Lipps were arrested on suspicion of second degree burglary, felony vandalism and trespassing.
