Man arrested on suspicion of fatal Stockton stabbing, San Joaquin County deputies say

A man was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man after a fight in Stockton that resulted in his death.

In a news release, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said Jose Anaya was taken into custody Saturday night in connection with a fight on the 2000 block of South Olive Avenue.

Just after 8 p.m., deputies received information regarding an altercation and arrived at the scene to find two men who had been fighting, one of whom had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Eduardo Salazar, 27, was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Anaya, 27, was arrested on suspicion of murder, although deputies are still investigating the killing.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Eduardo Salazar, whose life was cut short at the young age of 27,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
