Woodland man faces felonies on suspicion of possessing sawed-off shotgun, police say
A Woodland man faces multiple felony charges after being found in possession of a sawed-off shotgun, according to the Woodland Police Department.
Steven Allen Martinez was stopped by officers while riding his bicycle near the 1300 block of Sixth Street, where police said Martinez appeared to be “manipulating something in his jacket.” According to a news release, officers ordered Martinez to show his hands, which led to him dropping a loaded sawed-off shotgun.
Martinez, 43, was arrested and booked for felony charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short-barrel rifle and altering ID on a firearm, police said.
