Man stabbed to death in North Natomas near apartment complex, police say

A man was stabbed to death in North Natomas Thursday night, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Department spokesman Officer Karl Chan said police received a call around 10:30 p.m. regarding a man down on the 1800 block of Club Center Drive. The area is near Natomas Park Apartments, a large housing complex, and Merryhill Preschool.

Officers arrived at the scene of the attack to find a man suffering from a stab wound, Chan said.

Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures on the man, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Chan said.

The investigation is still underway and officers remain at the scene as of Friday morning, according to Chan.

Detectives currently believe that the killing was an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the surrounding area. Witnesses are still being interviewed by police and suspect information is not available.
