One man in critical condition after hit and run in Romona Village

A man is in critical condition after he was struck in a hit and run early Monday, the Sacramento Police Department said.

Officers responded to the 3000 block of Power Inn Road at 1 a.m. after receiving reports of a man down, said Officer Karl Chan, spokesman for the department.

Police said the man was hit by a vehicle and the vehicle fled the scene.

Firefighters responded and transported the man to a hospital where he is in critical condition, Chan said.

Detectives from the Major Collisions Unit have taken over the investigation, canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance footage, he said.
