State employee electrocuted while working in midtown building, fire department says
A person was seriously injured early Friday after being electrocuted while working in a midtown Sacramento building, the Sacramento Fire Department said.
The fire department received the call just after 1 a.m. and responded to reports of a possible electrocution at the 1600 block of Capitol Avenue, said Capt. Keith Wade, spokesman for the Sacramento Fire Department.
While en route to the scene, firefighters were updated that the person was unresponsive, he said. When they arrived, firefighters began life-saving measures and performed CPR.
The person was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical condition, Wade said.
Wade said firefighters were told the person was working in the building and was a state worker.
