El Dorado deputies searching for three Sacramento men swept up in Cosumnes River rapids

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three men from Sacramento believed to have gone missing while out on the Cosumnes River.

The Sheriff’s Office was called out around 4 p.m. Thursday to the north fork of the river at the Happy Valley cutoff on reports that the men had been swept into the river and out of sight.

Sheriff’s deputies, plus a dive team, a helicopter and fire crews responded to the river and conducted a search for the men, two of them 20 years old and one 24.

Dive team personnel came back out to the river Friday to continue the search but have yet to find anything.

The three men are being considered missing persons.

“We ask that you please stay out of the rivers,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “They are extremely dangerous.”
