The Woodland Police Department arrested two people Thursday, including a minor suspected of belonging to a street gang, after attempting a traffic stop in connection with a robbery investigation.

In a news release, police said that a gang task force spotted a gray Toyota Camry about 2 p.m. driven by a Woodland boy suspected of armed robbery, and officers attempted to pull the car over.

After the driver failed to stop, police said, the car sped off, reaching 90 mph and leading officers on a high-speed chase.

The driver led officers out of Woodland on surface streets and onto southbound Interstate 5.

The car eventually stopped for California Highway Patrol officers, who arrested the driver and 20-year-old passenger Holly Gaines, of Woodland.

In the car, officers said, they discovered a loaded handgun, half a pound of marijuana and cash.

The boy was booked into Yolo County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery, participation in a gang, drug possession, felony evasion and weapons charges.

Gaines was booked into the Yolo County jail on suspicion of conspiracy to sell drugs.
