Indiana man suspected of homicide arrested in Yuba City

A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Indiana has been arrested by the Yuba City Police Department and the Yuba-Sutter Narcotic and Gang Enforcement Task Force.

Police detained Steven Maurice Todd without incident on Tuesday on the 1000 block of the Gray Avenue business corridor in central Yuba City. Todd, age 32, is accused of murdering a 26-year-old woman in Hammond, Ind., in November of 2019.

Police first became aware of Todd’s whereabouts following a tip provided to the Marshals Service. According to police, the tip came in after someone watched the investigation-themed television show, “In Pursuit with John Walsh.”

Todd will await extradition back to Indiana.
