Teens arrested on suspicion of setting US flags on fire in Citrus Heights, police say

Two teenagers were arrested Monday after admitting to burning several American flags and damaging a play structure in Citrus Heights earlier this month, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

The teens, who are 15 and 17 years old, were responsible for burning a play structure in Rusch Park and several American flags and trees at a residence on Lynnetree Way on June 6, according to a news release. The teens also admitted to throwing rocks at several other windows in the city.

Officers also learned of three other people who helped the teens with the arson and vandalism, but they remain at large. Names and photos of the juveniles were not released due to their age.

Anyone with information should contact the Citrus Heights Police Department.
