Probationer found by law enforcement in stolen car arrested by Sutter County deputies

A probationer found in a parked vehicle that was listed as stolen was arrested Monday by deputies in Yuba City.

Mohammad Khan, 42, of Yuba City was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing stolen property after deputies saw him rummaging through the vehicle.

Deputies were called out to Lawrence Avenue in Yuba City, where Khan was seen in the car. After determining that he was on probation, the deputies searched Khan and the vehicle.

The vehicle’s license plates had been reported stolen in Marysville, and the car itself had also been stolen.

Khan was taken into custody and was booked into the Sutter County Jail for allegedly owning stolen goods. He was later released via no-cash bail.
