Two teenagers arrested in connection with Foothill Farms shooting, victim in critical condition
Two men were arrested Friday in connected with a robbery-turned-shooting in Foothill Farms that appeared to be random.
In a news release, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said Eddie Young, 18, of Sacramento and Jerem Lucas, 19, of Sacramento were arrested on suspicion of committing an armed robbery on Thursday that left one man hospitalized.
Deputies were called out to the 4400 block of Greenholme Drive around 2:15 a.m. on reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. After deputies attempted first aid, fire personnel took the man to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office believe that a black sedan occupied by three men had approached the victim as he was walking down the street, when one got out, tried to rob him and shot him. The victims and the suspects had no known relationship.
Lucas was taken into custody and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail around 3:45 a.m. Friday, according to Sheriff’s Office records. He is being held on $75,000 bail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.
Young was arrested and booked into the jail around 4:30 p.m. He is ineligible for bail and is accused of attempted murder, robbery and causing injury with a firearm.
A third person was contacted and interrogated by deputies, but later released, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information regarding the shooting call 916-874-5115.
