Simmering roommate fight in Pine Grove results in 2 arrests, Amador deputies say
Two Pine Grove men were arrested Monday after tensions boiled over in a simmering dispute between roommates, according to Amador County deputies.
One of the roommates, David Alec Hansen, was moving out of the home when a heated squabble quickly turned physical, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office said.
One of the men called the Sheriff’s Office to request a civil standby, according to sheriff’s Capt. Bryan Middleton.
As the first deputy arrived at the scene — in the 1900 block of Highway 88 — he saw a man pointing a shotgun at his other two roommates, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy drew his gun and ordered all three people to lie on the ground, authorities said.
More Amador County deputies, California Highway Patrol officers, Jackson police and a Sutter Creek police officer soon responded as backup.
Before the Amador deputy arrived around noon, Hansen and one of the roommates — Joshua Ramirezblackwell — had begun arguing, deputies say.
Tempers escalated and Ramirezblackwell started to throw rocks at Hansen, who responded by retrieving his shotgun from inside the residence, authorities said.
Hansen allegedly pointed the weapon at Ramirezblackwell and another male roommate, saying he would shoot them. This was a violent flareup in a protracted roommate quarrel, authorities determined.
Hansen and Ramirezblackwell were arrested. Hansen faces charges of felony assault with a firearm and Ramirezblackwell is facing battery and probation violation charges, deputies said.
