Police looking for sedan’s driver after man struck and killed in South Natomas hit-and-run

Sacramento police are looking for a suspect who fled a crash site in South Natomas after a pedestrian was hit and killed Sunday afternoon.

Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Karl Chan said the crash occurred near the intersection of Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino Avenue around 2:41 p.m.

Officers arrived at the crash site to find a man suffering major injuries. He was declared dead at the scene by first responders.

Police determined that the vehicle that hit and killed the man fled the area before officers showed up. Sacramento police investigators were on their way as of 4:30 p.m. to canvass the neighborhood, locate witnesses and see if there were nearby surveillance cameras that may have filmed the crash.

Officers believe that the vehicle that fled the scene is a dark-colored four-door sedan with tinted windows. The vehicle may also have damage on its front grill and windshield.
