Police investigating after 1 dead, 3 injured in Old North Sacramento shooting

Police are investigating a shooting and possible stabbing in Old North Sacramento that left one dead and three injured Wednesday night.

Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to several reports of shots fired around 11 p.m. near Traction and Plaza avenues.

Police found three people with gunshot wounds, and another victim who was possibly stabbed. One of the victims died from their injuries at the scene. The others were transported to hospitals, with one victim in critical condition.

Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence, according to a news release Thursday morning, and “the circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation.”

Detectives believe that all involved parties have been identified and that the incident is isolated. Investigators do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects.
