Lodi police arrested a man accused of drunk driving and impersonating police Thursday.

Officers arrested Rui Martins, age 52, on East Lockfeford street on Thursday night after spotting Martins driving with a flashing light and blaring siren on top of his pickup truck. Lieutenant Eric Versteeg of the Lodi police department said officers discovered Martins’ blood alcohol levels to be four times over the legal limit at the time of his arrest.

Martins was charged with impersonating an officer, felony DUI with priors, and several minor vehicle violations.

Martins was booked into the Lodi city jail. He was later transported to the San Joaquin County Jail where he is expected to be released.
