Body of Stockton man recovered after drowning in Lake Camanche, sheriff says

A 20-year-old Stockton man was found dead Monday in Lake Camanche, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office said.

At 4:15 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a drowning at the reservoir that lies between Amador, San Joaquin and Calaveras counties, about 50 miles southeast of Sacramento.

A dive team searched for two hours before finding the man’s body, the Sheriff’s Office said, who was identified as a 20-year-old man from Stockton.

“The Sheriff’s Office would like to express our deepest condolences to the family,” the sheriff’s office said.
