Sacramento County SWAT team arrests shooter barricaded in home, Sheriff’s Office says
Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an armed man earlier in the week following a SWAT search of his southeast Sacramento home.
In a news release issued Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office said that deputies were initially sent out around 11 p.m. Tuesday to a property near Florin road and Bradshaw roads on reports of a man armed with a gun shooting in the area.
A caller told deputies that her neighbors had been sending her threatening and racially-charged text messages while firing a gun from his home.
Responding deputies arrived and learned that the suspect’s father, who was still in the home, had been assaulted and needed immediate medical treatment.
A SWAT team entered the suspect’s home and located his father, who was rushed to a medical team and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
The SWAT team also confronted the suspect, who was not identified, and took him into custody. He was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County jail, though it was unclear what charges the man was facing.
Several firearms, including rifles, shotguns and pistols, were found in the home and seized by law enforcement.
