Galt police arrest woman for burglary, car theft at seniors’ complex

Police tape at crime scene

A 33-year-old Ramona woman is facing multiple felony charges after Galt police were called to New Hope Senior Village on Monday at 1:50 a.m. The Galt Police Department responded to a report of an attempted burglary, with a resident saying a woman was seen trying to open the front door of one of the units.

Authorities located a woman matching the suspect description. In a department Facebook post, police said Alicia Perez stole another resident’s car by taking the keys from inside an apartment and drove the vehicle across the complex’s parking lot.

Galt police arrested Perez and booked her at the Sacramento County Main Jail with charges of burglary, attempted burglary, vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. Perez is being held for $50,000 bail.
