Authorities release name of Sacramento man stabbed to death in Arden Arcade
Authorities on Friday released the name of a Sacramento man who was stabbed to death early Wednesday in Arden Arcade.
Ernest Raymond Miranda, 37, was found with a stab wound to his abdomen in the 2300 block of Villanova Circle, just east of Bell Street and north of Northrop Avenue.
The man suspected of committing the fatal stabbing, Jordan Rene Perez, 31, remained in custody Friday afternoon in the Sacramento County Main Jail. He was being held without bail.
The stabbing was first reported about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived and found the injured man. Sheriff’s officials said the deputies immediately began life-saving measures as fire personnel were dispatched.
Miranda was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Deputies said Perez was at the scene when they arrived. Perez was arrested on suspicion of murder in Miranda’s death.
Perez and Miranda knew each other, but the detectives had not yet determined a motive for the stabbing, officials said in the news release Wednesday.
