Spectator in Natomas sideshow run over by spinning car. Sacramento police looking for driver

A man was hit by a car Saturday night during a large illegal sideshow near The Promenade in the Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento, according to police.

Officer Karl Chan, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department, said that the sideshow took place in a parking lot near the intersection of North Freeway Boulevard and Promenade Circle, the site of the large shopping center. The man, a spectator in the crowd, was hit by the car just after 10 p.m., according to Chan.

A video taken from the crowd, posted on social media, shows a person run out in front of the screeching car, seemingly in an attempt to reach an inner circle of people which the car had been doing doughnuts.

Chan said the victim is expected to survive, but suffered serious injury as a result of the crash. The driver sped off afterward and police are currently searching for the vehicle’s whereabouts.

Police currently have no information on potential suspects. Officers are gathering surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the driver and passengers of the silver or gray Infiniti- or Nissan-style sedan.
