1 killed in shooting at Roseville hotel. Police still looking for suspect
One person was killed in a shooting Friday morning at a Roseville hotel, with no suspect in custody, police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 8 a.m. in the 1900 block of Freedom Way, the Roseville Police Department said in a social media post.
Department spokesman Rob Baquera confirmed shortly after 10 a.m. that one person has died, and that a “single suspect fled the scene” and remains outstanding. A suspect description was not available.
Baquera said investigators are still working to determine the motive for the shooting.
The hotel at the location of the shooting is the Home2 Suites by Hilton, just west of Highway 65 near Topgolf.
Investigators remain at the scene, but the hotel and surrounding businesses are open and there is “no ongoing threat to the neighborhood,” the police department said in an updated post.
Baquera said Friday’s shooting is Roseville’s third homicide this year.
