Stockton police investigate homicide after shooting leaves one dead, one injured

Stockton police are investigating a homicide after a shooting around 2 a.m. Sunday left a woman dead and a man injured.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of East Longview Avenue to find two victims with gunshot wounds, a 63-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man. Both were transported to an area hospital, but the woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, police said. The man is in stable condition.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation upon the victim’s death. No suspect or motive information is currently known and the investigation is ongoing.
