State schedules pre-Father’s Day surplus auction in Sacramento

Just in time for Father’s Day, the state will conduct one of its quarterly surplus auctions Saturday in Sacramento.

Does dear old dad need golf clubs, tools or a Gucci watch? Those items are up for bid at the auction that begins at 10 a.m. at the state surplus warehouse, 1700 National Drive.

Other items to be auctioned include, purses, a floor buffer, shin guards, jackets, artificial plants, chairs, desks, toys and a girl’s bike.

The hundreds of items come from state agencies, property seized by the California Highway Patrol and items confiscated by the Transportation Security Administration, according to a news release from the state Department of General Services.

Items can be previewed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and 8 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
