A Sacramento County jury has convicted three men of robbing a Sutterville Road gas station last year.
Jurors on Friday found Daniel Espinosa, 34, Francisco Castillo, 23, and Eduardo Aguayo, 37, guilty of robbery, personal use of a gun, principle use of a gun and gang enhancements, evading a peace officer and resisting arrest, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.
On May 22, 2014, the three men came to Sacramento from Stockton and robbed the 76 gas station on Sutterville Road at gunpoint, authorities said. All three defendants were reported to be Sureños gang members.
Law enforcement officers spotted their vehicle minutes after the robbery and tried to stop them. Espinosa, the driver, led officers on a high-speed pursuit on southbound Interstate 5 before he and his companions were apprehended.
