Placerville police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of exposing himself a few minutes after he registered with the Police Department as a sex offender.
Police said Esteban Rocha, 51, a convicted sex offender, went to the Police Department about 11:50 a.m. to register as a sex offender as required by state law and as a condition of his parole. He completed the registration and left the Police Department at 12:30 p.m.
Approximately 25 minutes later, police received a 911 call reporting a man matching Rocha’s description exposing himself to a woman in the 1300 block of Broadway, a short distance from the police station. Officers responded and detained Rocha. They said he was identified by the woman and arrested.
Rocha was booked into El Dorado County Jail for a parole violation and on suspicion of committing indecent exposure with prior convictions.
