What began as a minor hit-and-run crash in south Sacramento turned into a chase in which several vehicles, including a patrol car, were hit Tuesday night.
Sacramento police spokesman Officer Justin Brown said the incident began about 8:30 p.m. when police responded to Thistle Court and Shining Star Drive regarding a hit-and-run crash. They attempted to stop the driver, but he fled and a pursuit began.
During the chase, the fleeing driver struck multiple vehicles, one of which was a patrol vehicle, Brown said.
He said officers finally used a pit maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop at Stockton Boulevard and Orange Avenue. When the driver delayed in surrendering to officers, a canine was deployed to apprehend him.
