Police investigating homicide after man found unresponsive in North Sacramento

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found unresponsive and suffering from unspecified injuries in the Richardson Village area of North Sacramento on Sunday night, according to a news release.

The man, whose identity has not been released, appeared to have suffered from an assault, according to the news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders attempted to provide aid shortly before 11 p.m. near Altos Avenue and Acacia Avenue. The incident happened near Richardson Village Park.

Sacramento Police spokesman Officer Karl Chan said the details of the victim’s injury would be more clear after an autopsy. Investigators are canvassing the area for evidence and looking for witnesses, Chan said.
