Breaking News

Two people were injured after a shooting Tuesday afternoon at the Westin hotel in Sacramento, along the Sacramento River.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Riverside Boulevard shortly before 12:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Ryan Woo said.

Two victims were located with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. One was taken to a hospital while the other was not transported, Woo said.

Woo said the shooting happened on hotel property but he did not know whether it happened outside or inside the hotel.

Officers remained at the scene investigating as of 2:30 p.m. Based on preliminary investigation, the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public, according to Woo.

The suspect or suspects fled the scene before police arrived, and no suspect information was immediately available.
