Rancho Cordova man arrested in pair of Woodland gas station robberies

Deputies arrested a suspect accused of robbing a pair of gas station convenience stores near Woodland early Tuesday morning, detaining the suspect in front of a third store.

Authorities were notified of a robbery at the AM/PM on County Road 102 shortly after 3 a.m., the Woodland Police Department said in a Facebook post, followed by another about 20 minutes later at a Chevron station on North East Street. Calls to dispatch from both locations reported similar suspect descriptions, according to the post.

Yolo County sheriff’s deputies around 3:40 a.m. contacted a suspect matching both descriptions in front of the AM/PM store on County Road 99, police said.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old Isaiah Evans, of Rancho Cordova, on suspicion of two counts of robbery, the Woodland Police Department said. Evans was booked into the Yolo County jail.

The Police Department shared a photo showing a few hundred dollars in cash along with a black BB gun and bottle of metal BBs.
