Two are shot and hospitalized, including a minor, according to Galt Police Department

Two people were shot late Friday afternoon in Galt, including a minor, according to the Galt Police Department.

In a news release, the department said that officers were called out on multiple reports of a shooting near B and Seventh streets about 4:45 p.m.

Officers found a boy, described by police as a “juvenile,” who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

While investigating the shooting, officers found a second victim who had also suffered a gunshot wound. They also were taken to a hospital.

Police officials said that the investigation is ongoing and no further details were available for release. Investigators are asking anyone with information into the shooting to call 209-366-7000.
