Yuba sheriff’s officials investigate suspicious death after body found on embankment
Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead at the bottom of an embankment near the Nevada-Yuba county line, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Deputies responded to a 911 call and located the body around 11:30 a.m. Friday along Spenceville Road, on the Yuba side of the county line, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
“Due to visible injuries on the body, Yuba County Sheriff detectives responded and are investigating the coroner’s case as a suspicious death,” the news release continued.
No further details were released on the nature of the injuries, and the cause of death and identification are pending completion of an autopsy.
The Sheriff’s Office estimated the victim was in his late 40s or early 50s.
