One person dies following shooting in Old North Sacramento, police say

Breaking News

One person died following a shooting Monday in Old North Sacramento.

Officers responded to the 700 block of Lampasas Avenue, near Traction Avenue, about 11:50 a.m. and found two adults — one male, one female — with gunshot injuries, Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Ryan Woo said.

Police said in a later news release that the man had died several hours later; he was identified as Robert Jasper, 40. Officers also found a third person, a woman, who had been grazed by a bullet.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting and no suspect information was available.
