A 22-year-old Truckee man was arrested after police say he threatened to “shoot up” Wheatland Union High School.

Truckee police arrested 22-year-old resident Dominic White on Thursday, according to a news release from the Wheatland Police Department. White was booked into Nevada County Jail on suspicion of making criminal threats, according to the jail log.

He awaits extradition to Yuba County for prosecution, the news release said.

Wheatland police first found White’s alleged threats online on Thursday, identified him and contacted the Truckee Police Department, according to the release.

“We take all threats against our schools, children and residents seriously and will relentlessly pursue anyone who threatens our community,” Wheatland Police Department Chief Damiean Sylvester said in the police release. “I am proud of the hard work of our officers in bringing this case to a quick resolution, as well as the assistance we received from Truckee Police Department in arresting Mr. White.”

The arrest came days after a photo went viral on social media of eight Wheatland High School students with swastikas and other faux Nazi tattoos drawn on their torsos, prompting the school to launch an investigation.
