Missing woman last seen in Milford found safe, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office says

Missing person found

A woman who was last seen Friday in Milford and was reported missing by her boyfriend on Saturday was found safe Sunday, according to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office said that the 37-year-old woman was reported missing by her boyfriend after she walked away from their vehicle on Highway 395 near Mill Street.

Her 41-year-old boyfriend contacted deputies about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and told them that he had been driving with the woman from Seattle to Reno to get married on Friday, but they got into an argument along the way. After he pulled the vehicle over about 8 p.m., she got out and started walking north on the highway without taking any of her belongings. She hadn’t been seen since.

In an update posted to social media, the Sheriff’s Office said she had taken shelter at an abandoned building amid single-digit overnight temperatures and later sought assistance from a resident living in the area Sunday afternoon.
