Man who robbed jewelry store at Palladio mall in Folsom sentenced to 15 years in prison
A man who robbed a jewelry store at the Palladio shopping center in 2014 was sentenced to prison on Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.
In a news release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said that London Webb, 34, of Oakland was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to pay $691,973 in restitution for an armed robbery at the since-shuttered Grebitus Jewelers that occurred on Oct. 14, 2014.
Prosecutors said that Webb was involved in a conspiracy to commit armed robberies at several jewelry stores to steal Rolex watches. On the day of the Palladio robbery, Webb and another man entered the store in masks and smashed a display case with a sledgehammer.
While Webb smashed displays, the other man pointed a gun at employees and had them lie on the floor. Webb cut himself on a display case while stealing the Rolexes and left blood behind. The two robbers ran out with $310,800 worth of watches, according to prosecutors.
The two left in a vehicle, which they eventually abandoned. Law enforcement later found this getaway vehicle, which also had Webb’s blood inside.
Webb pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery on Oct. 14, 2021, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and also admitted to other smash-and-grabs at Kirk’s Jewelry in Chico on Nov. 21, 2013, at Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Arizona on Jan. 16, 2015, and at Churchill Jewelers in Santa Barbara on Jan. 30, 2015.
Webb’s co-defendant Dion Johnson II, 33, of Sacramento, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the robberies on Oct. 7, 2021. He pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery on April 14, 2021.
