Pickup driver dies in Yolo County crash involving big rig, two cars
A pickup truck driver died Monday in a crash on Highway 16 in Yolo County that also involved a big rig and two cars.
The crash at Highway 16 just west of County Road 93 was reported about 6:45 a.m. Monday.
The California Highway Patrol said that a car was traveling on Highway 16 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drifted out of its lane and sideswiped an oncoming big rig. The impact caused the big rig driver to lose control. In the process, the big rig was hit by another car.
The big rig then swerved into the opposing lane and hit the pickup. The big rig, which overturned, and the pickup left he roadway.
The driver of the pickup died. The drivers of the other vehicles were transported to hospitals.
