1 man dead, road closed after North Sacramento shooting, police say
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting in North Sacramento early Tuesday that left one man dead.
Police sent out a traffic advisory Tuesday morning on Twitter, informing residents that Grand Avenue would be closed in both directions between Pinell Street and Schutt Way due to the investigation. The roadway reopened around noon.
Officers arrived to the 3700 block of Dayton Street at 2:15 a.m., following a report that a person was shot. They found a man with at least one life-threatening wound.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Homicide detectives are taking over the investigation, the department said.
