Pedestrian is killed in a hit-and-run near Colonial Village, Sacramento police say
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver who fled after the incident early Sunday near Colonial Village, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
In a news release, the department said that the crash occurred about 1:50 a.m. near Power Inn Road and Butte Avenue.
Officers attempted life-saving measures but the man was pronounced dead by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.
The vehicle involved fled the scene, according to police. No suspect information was available.
The Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit responded and canvassed the area.
The identity of the pedestrian will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notifying his next of kin.
Police investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call dispatchers at 916-808-5471.
