Man dies after altercation near 200 block of O Street

Sacramento police have arrested Arthur Bird, 40, in connection with a fight in the 200 block of O Street in downtown Sacramento Wednesday evening in which a man in his 50s was killed.

“Bird was located by officers in the area of the unresponsive victim and is believed to be responsible for the deadly physical assault,” the Sacramento Police Department said in a press release Thursday morning. “The victim and suspect were known to each other and no other individuals are believed to have been involved.”

Police arrived on the scene about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday and found the unidentified victim in the park across from the Crocker Art Museum.
