Four Sacramento County residents arrested in El Dorado County cocaine investigation
Detectives arrested four Sacramento County residents in connection with a narcotics investigation tracking a source of cocaine in El Dorado County, sheriff’s officials said.
Narcotics detectives on Tuesday served a search warrant at a Rio Linda home as part of the month-long investigation, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday in a news release. Sheriff’s officials said the detectives had identified two suspects as a source of supply of cocaine to El Dorado County.
The detectives arrived at the Rio Linda home and spotted two suspects trying to leave but were quickly apprehended. Sheriff’s officials said the detectives searched the home and found more than two pounds of cocaine, more than one pound of psilocybin (also known as “magic mushrooms”), over 2,300 Xanax pills and 150 oxycodone pills, along with undisclosed amounts of methamphetamine and MDMA (also known as “Molly”).
The detectives also found at the home two loaded guns, including an assault rifle, and more than $100,000 in cash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Marco Lopez, 26, and Meloinie Wills, 20, of Sacramento were arrested and booked at the El Dorado County Jail. Michael Mulin and Amit Singh, both 19-year-old Rio Linda residents, were arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Jail.
Lopez and Wills were arrested Tuesday and remained in custody Friday afternoon. They each face three counts of transporting drugs for sale, criminal conspiracy, drug possession for the purpose of sales and possessing an assault weapon, according to jail records. Lopez’s bail was set at $335,000 and Wills’ bail was set at $325,000.
Sheriff’s officials said Mulin and Singh face drug and gun possession charges, but their exact charges were not available Friday. They were both released from the Sacramento jail on Thursday.
