Police tape at crime scene

A Sacramento woman was arrested in Lodi after the death of a 14-year-old who suffered a possible overdose and was taken to a hospital over the weekend.

Cecilia Silva, 18, was arrested and booked at the San Joaquin County Jail in connection with the minor’s death, the Lodi Police Department announced Tuesday in a news release.

Silvia was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment resulting in death, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, transporting or furnishing a narcotic and obstructing a public official.

On Saturday, officers received a report of the 14-year-old who was unresponsive and had possibly overdosed. The teen was taken to a hospital and died Monday. The Police Department did not release the name of the teen or whether the child who died was a boy or a girl.

Officers identified Silva as a suspect in the suspicious death investigation and arrested her.
