South Sacramento shooting victim identified
The name of the man shot to death on a South Sacramento street Saturday night has been released by coroner’s deputies.
He was identified as Victor Ray Aranda, 28, of Sacramento.
Police said that Aranda was shot more than once while he was standing on a residential street near Sacramento Executive Airport. Police responded to the 6300 block of Hermosa Street about 10 p.m. Saturday on a call of shots fired and a person down.
When officers arrived, they found they found Aranda dead near a sidewalk. Investigators determined that Aranda had been shot while he was standing near the edge of the street, and that suspects had fled on foot after the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
