A suspect was arrested after two people were shot during an altercation Sunday night in Carmichael, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies responded around 9 p.m. to reports of shots fired on Compton Parc Lane, and authorities located two people with gunshot injuries, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Rodney Grassmann said.

Both victims were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Grassmann described the initial report as a “disturbance between neighbors.”

A suspect had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving, but was later located and arrested without incident, Grassmann said.

The suspect’s identity was not released.
