Man arrested, accused in recent groping incidents at two Sacramento college campuses
A man accused of groping students this month at the Sacramento State and Cosumnes River College campuses was identified and arrested this week, authorities said.
Police at the university and community college reported three total incidents — two March 2 at Sacramento State, and one March 7 at Cosumnes River College in the Valley Hi / North Laguna neighborhood — each involving a male bicyclist touching or slapping victims’ buttocks as he rode by.
Los Rios Community College District police arrested Nico Traversie, 28, on a warrant for two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery, jail booking records show.
Based on security camera footage and witness descriptions, the two campus police departments said they believed the same suspect was involved in all three incidents.
Traversie was booked Monday afternoon into the Sacramento County Main Jail downtown, where he is ineligible for bail. He is due in Sacramento Superior Court on Wednesday.
