Man arrested after deadly shooting at Yuba County apartment complex, deputies say
Detectives arrested a 60-year-old man on suspicion of homicide after a deadly shooting Wednesday in the Yuba County town of Linda.
The suspect, Laurence Lang, was arrested after deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of Country Club Court around 6 p.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday in a news release.
First responders pronounced the victim, 43-year-old Robert Zandstra of Linda, dead of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the news release.
Neighbors witnessed the shooting and identified Lang to investigators, the Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies located him around 11:30 p.m. driving on Ash Way in Linda, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Deputies booked Lang into the Yuba County Jail early Thursday morning on charges of murder, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of a firearm by a felon, online jail records show. His bail is set at $1 million.
The circumstances leading up to the homicide remain under investigation, sheriff’s officials said.
