Coroner identifies woman found dead in midtown Sacramento

The Sacramento County coroner’s office has identified the victim of a homicide at a midtown apartment as 31-year-old Kelsey Snyder of Sacramento.

Snyder was found unresponsive inside a building in the 1600 block of 17th Street between P and Q streets. Police said the victim was discovered by a friend who checked on her after phone calls and texts went unanswered.

She was pronounced dead by fire personnel. The homicide occurred sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning. Police do not believe the incident was random.

Snyder suffered a “traumatic injury based on body position,” said Sacramento police Lt. Justin Risley. The death was “suspicious in nature.”

The coroner identified Snyder’s husband, Timothy Snyder, as next of kin.
